Our best selling, streamlined, Kane XL backpack now with cargo style exterior pockets.
For every STATE product purchased, we'll support American children and families in need... in the ways they need it most. Whether that's donating fully-packed backpacks at our bag drop rallies, to fueling #WhatDoWeTellTheKids initiatives to funding special projects supporting partner schools and organizations in which we so deeply believe.
Learn Moreim disappointed. I spent a sizable amount of money on the backpack and am underwhelmed. the compartments of the bag are great but it is pretty rigid and does not hold much considering it being named the "Kane XL". I can only fit a few binders and my computer. Also the side strap adjuster broke and I constantly have to re loop the strap into the adjuster for the bag to stay together. that piece also scratches me every time I put it on. great looking bag - but not great in practice.
I'm a freelancer, working from home, and sometimes I need to work out of the house for a change of scenery. This packs my whole office so I can take it with me to a coffee shop, cafe, co-working space, anywhere! I'm able to take my 16" laptop, laptop charger, phone charger, external hard drives, lunch/snacks, water bottle, extra jacket, design materials (pantone books, fabric swatches, all sorts of hard-to-organize randoms) literally you name it.... this fits it all and I love that there are separate pockets and organization compartments for everything. AND I can haul it all comfortably. I have chronic back pain so I was worried that "packing it all" would be a problem - but it's comfortable and supportive!
So far, after 5-6 weeks, it's holding up beautifully. It has plenty of compartments for everything. It's comfortable - the extra strap helps a great deal if you're walking a few blocks or more. Every morning, I fill a 68 oz thermos and large tumbler with coffee, laptop, and lots of other things for my day, walking close to four miles total, between home & bus, bus stops, bus & work and the reverse. This backpack hasn't given me anything close to an ache or annoyance. Exactly what I wanted/needed after returning to the office and walking off 10 lbs of quitting smoking weight, then 15-20 lbs of COVID weight.
I've deducted a star for this: The B Corp symbol (I look for it because it means workers & environment are respected better than most companies do) was on this website when I ordered my backpack. I returned and the symbol was gone. I looked at the B Corp directory, no State. I wrote B Corp and got a response. I'd like to believe it's an honest error, but I can't help but feel a bit mislead. Would I still consider another State product? Definitely. Without B Corp certification, I'm also more likely to look elsewhere.
