I bought this backpack for my granddaughter to carry all her school supplies. It’s big enough for her everyday use and will also be perfect for travel. It’s sturdy and very well made.
Very satisfied with the purchase.
The main reason I resorted to this backpack was because my kid won't stop putting her backpack on the floor/ground. By the end of each school year a cheap backpack I buy was scuffed and torn. I had to spend more time looking for a durable backpack. This backpack is heavy but it's definately holding up! I realized my kid would handle it (just a little more) carefully with it too because I keep telling her it's not a cheap backpack. lol She's in the third grade and I told her she's gonna keep this backpack through the 6th. Bought the lunch bag with it just because but it turned out I needed the lunch bag too. It's very sturdy, easy to clean and not many kids have it so it's easy to spot it at school. Originally bought Kane DP Large but exchanged it with DP for my 8 year old. It was just way too big for her. I think she'll be ok with DP through the 6th.
This backpack looks great, has plenty of pockets and slits for great organization options. The material seems robust, and the stitching sturdy. It's little big for my petite 8-year old, but she'll grow into it quickly. And frankly, she needs enough stuff for school that it's the right size.
I would be very happy, even 5-starts happy, but within a month of purchase one of the zippers just snapped in half. Not a tangled tracked or pulled too hard, but the metal piece that runs on the track just broke during normal use.
I have reached out to customer service to see how they can help. Waiting to hear back. I expected, based on previous reviews, endorsements and the price, that the hardware of the bag was not something I had to worry about so soon.

Definitely did not need this size for my (tall) 4th grader! For context, she has a folder, notebook, Chromebook, lunch, and water bottle every day. We could have fit all of that with one size down. This bag is huge!
First I thought the bag was a little pricey, but it did have a lot of detail.
I have to say I am blown away by the quality of this back pack.
Not only is the material so durable, the butterflies, wow. They are not flimsy, they will not fall off, I don’t see how they can get destroyed at all.
I am now hooked on state. We used to buy pottery barn backpacks, they are garbage. STATE be the back packs I will be purchasing from here out!
I will next be trying out their carry on suitcases for my daughters !
