Created in 2016, STATE’s #WhatDoWeTellTheKids platform aims to shed light, spark conversation and build empathy around challenging social issues by asking the question, ‘what do we tell the kids?’ Prior initiatives focus on #BlackLivesMatter and mass incarceration’s impact on kids, the Flint water crisis, damaging language directed at the LGBTQ and disabled communities, the national anthem protests and more.

THE EL PASO INITIATIVE

Presented by STATE Bags & Brazen
Production: Sola Adenaken & Rosario Chico
Cinematography: Dario Navarro
Editor: Michael Reichenberg
Narrator: Scot Tatelman

After we donated 2,000 backpacks to asylum seekers in El Paso, our Co-Founder, Scot wanted to get to the city to understand and experience the issues at the border first hand and document it on film... and two days before he left, one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history took place. In addition to launching this on El Paso Giving Day, we are asking fellow brands to #StandWithState, pledging to support seven incredible organizations tirelessly working to better the kids, families and proud border communities like El Paso... in the ways they need it most.
