Created in 2016, STATE’s #WhatDoWeTellTheKids platform aims to shed light, spark conversation and build empathy around challenging social issues by asking the question, ‘what do we tell the kids?’ Prior initiatives focus on #BlackLivesMatter and mass incarceration’s impact on kids, the Flint water crisis, damaging language directed at the LGBTQ and disabled communities, the national anthem protests and more.

Dear white Americans - you need to hear this... even if you think you don't. This #WhatDoWeTellTheKids initiative was designed to educate and open eyes with concrete calls to action tied to every post. Each person you'll hear has chosen a specific organization or movement that STATE will be supporting in hopes that our followers will rally around as well.
We’re always growing the ways in which we can make a difference. Do you have a cause you’re passionate about? Is there a local issue that needs attention? Send us a note if you’d like us to cover your story on our What Do We Tell the Kids platform.
